Setting the Mood

I'm trying to branch out a bit by using more black in RI2. I've always been a bit reticent to it, because of my unfamiliarity with drawing comics. But with several of my favorite artists on hand for reference, I'm getting a wee bit more comfortable with it. Above is an image from the new book, which takes place during a time of very inclement weather in mid-May, 1864.

Very nice Ted.

It sort of has this someones watching them from the woods feel.

Can't wait to see more!

I like how not only the blacks in the trees frame the characters, but also contrast nicely with the with sky, to great effect. Book 2 should be great.
