A panel for today. This is Lilith from the prologue of the book. There were a lot of positive comments regarding the introduction to the Amazons at the beginning of Rose and Isabel, and I would like to do another round of those (this time including R&I themselves in the role call). The Lilith intro is currently superceding that and I'm looking for a way to use them both.
I have about 5 introductory segments that come before Cora's story gets rolling, so it becomes a matter of how to sequence them, so they are integrated with each other and feel cohesive. Time to look for some films that do this effectively and study them...

Casablanca has a great beginning. They set up the entire series of events leading up to world war II before the story starts. It's simple, clean, and tells the audience what it needs to know without telling them too much.
Hey Ted,
It was good seeing you at 1988 Gallery.
It seems that your Lilith character prologue brings curiousity and more questions than your Amazon prologue for Rose and Isabel. In R&I, your intentions were clear where the warrior spirits exist in the heroines and will emerge given the right motivations.
Based on your sneak peeks that you have shown, Lilith appears as a mysterious, mystical and complex being. It leads in more questions (like LOST episode) how Cora will be developed in this story. In your cover sneak peek, it appears that Cora is introspective and deep in thought. Just questions and curiousity

PS. I am writing this blog while sipping on 18 year old special cask Macallan. We got to drink, Bro
tiki - thanks - I remember that setup...time to take another look at it.
cK - Good to see you as well. Unlike LOST, all questions you have WILL be answered and in such a way as to work within the confines of the story.
The thing that excites me most about the book right now are the emotional arcs of the 4 main characters: Rose, Isabel, Cora and Lilith. All four characters are coming from very different places emotionally, which I hope will make the story very interesting as it unfolds. I'll be putting my own spin on the Lilith character based on research I've done and your assessment of her is correct.
Thanks for sending along your thoughts on the story and enjoy that Macallan!
